Collar, also known as a Skirted Taper Tap, is a specialized external fishing
tool designed to retrieve dropped tubular objects such as drill pipe, tubing,
and cylindrical downhole components by cutting threads onto the external
surface of the fish.
Engineered for
severe fishing conditions, the tool is especially effective for recovering
objects without internal bores or with blocked/stuck internal passages where
internal fishing tools cannot be used.
